Q. How many days in advance can I book an express bus?
Answer Express bus reservations can be made up to one month in advance. We recommend using the Express bus reservation website “JBO” for your booking.

Q. Can I only buy a express bus ticket to Amanohashidate at a ticket counter or other physical location? Do I also need to buy the return ticket in person?
Answer You can purchase tickets for our express buses online via “Japan Bus Online (JBO)”. Reservations are available from one month before the departure date. Return tickets from Amanohashidate can also be purchased online. This applies to both Kyoto and Osaka lines.

Q. How can I get to Ine from Osaka Station / Kyoto Station / Amanohashidate Station / Miyazu Station?
Answer From Osaka Station / Kyoto Station to Amanohashidate area:
Please refer to this page for details. It provides information on access by car, train, and express bus. For details on using trains, please refer to the official websites of JR West and other railway companies.
We recommend taking our Express bus service. You can board the Express bus at Shin-Osaka, Osaka International Airport, Osaka Umeda Sanbangai, or Kyoto Station, and get off at Miyazu Station or Amanohashidate Station. For more information about Express buses, please see this page.

From Miyazu Station:
Take a bus bound for Ine from the bus stop in front of Miyazu Station and get off at the bus stop in Ine area.
There is also a bus stop in front of our Ine Bay Boat Tour terminal. Please refer to this page for information on local buses.

From Amanohashidate Station:
Take a bus bound for Ine from the bus stop in front of Amanohashidate Station and get off at the bus stop in Ine area.
Alternatively, you can take our sightseeing boat from the boat dock, 7 minutes’ walk from Amanohashidate Station, get off at Ichinomiya boat dock, then walk about 1 minute to the bus stop “Motoise Kono jinja shrine-mae” and take a bus from there to the bus stop in Ine area. There is also a bus stop in front of our Ine Bay Boat Tour terminal. Please refer to this page for information on local buses.

Q. Can I use a prepaid transportation card to pay for the express bus fare?
Answer Unfortunately, the prepaid transportation card is not available. Please refer to this page for details on the payment methods accepted at each facility. We are terribly sorry, but we kindly ask for your understanding.

Q. Are there coin lockers (luggage lockers) at Amanohashidate Station?
Answer Yes, there are, but not many. For more details about luggage storage, we recommend asking at the information desk inside the station.

Q. When are you closed? Are you open during the New Year’s holidays?
Answer We are open all year as a general rule. Note, they might be suspended due to bad weather. And the chairlift isn’t provided on weekdays from December 16th to the end of February, but exceptionally runs January 1st – 5th. Opening hours vary depending on the season. For more information, please visit each facility’s page or “Operation Information”.

Q. What is the weight limit for the chairlift?
Answer About 300 kilograms is the maximum weight limit for our chairlift. For more information of the chairlift, please visit “this page”.

Q. Can I use ” KANSAI THRU PASS” to reserve the seat for the Tango bus service from Kyoto to Amanohashidate and through to Ine?
Answer Unfortunatly, the “KANSAI THRU PASS” cannot be used on Tankai’s express buses and local buses. We are terribly sorry, but we kindly ask for your understanding.

Q. I would like to inquire if local buses to Ine are covered under the “Kansai Wide Area Pass”.
Answer The Kansai Wide Area Pass does not cover local buses operated by non-JR companies, which are the primary means of reaching Ine. Specifically, local buses in Miyazu City, Kyotango City, Ine Town, and Yosano Town are not included in the pass’s coverage.

Alternative Option:
Consider the ” Amanohashidate Sandbar–Ine Bay–Tango Province Sightseeing Package”.
This convenient and affordable package includes:
  • A round-trip ticket for the Amanohashidate cable car or chairlift
  • A ticket for the Amanohashidate sightseeing boat
  • The Ine Bay Boat Tour
  • Unlimited rides on Tankai’s local buses (excluding community buses)
  • The Nariai Mountain Bus (temple entrance fee not included)

Recommendations for Visiting Ine:
Use your Kansai Wide Area Pass to travel via JR trains and the Kyoto Tango Railway to Amanohashidate. Upon arrival, it is recommended to purchase the Sightseeing Package mentioned above to cover local transportation and sightseeing activities in the Ine area. If you prefer not to buy the package, you can pay for local bus fares separately in cash.

Q. Can I go to Ine by boat from near the Amanohashidate Station?
Answer We are sorry, but there is no boat toward Ine from the boat dock near Amanohashidate Station. Please take the bus toward Ine at the bus stop in front of the station.
Alternatively, take the boat from the Amanohashidate boat dock (next to Chionji temple) to the Ichinomiya boat dock. When arriving the Ichinomiya boat dock, walk toward Motoise Kono jinja shrine (1minutes on foot from the boat dock), and get on the bus for Ine at the bus stop in front of this shrine.

Q. Can I get on the cable car and the boat whenever I like?
Answer All vehicles and vessels operate according to fixed timetables. Please check the schedule of each service when boarding or making a reservation. Boarding times cannot be freely chosen—thank you for your understanding.

Q. Is it available without appointment to use the cable cars and the sightseeing boats?
Answer Yes. It is available to use without reservation. However, when you visit our facilities as a group of more than 15 people, it would be great if you could contact us in advance using the reservation form.

Q. Is it available without appointment to use the express bus?
Answer Yes. It is available to use without reservation, but you cannot get on the bus when it is full, so we recommend booking in advance on this site.

Q. Are the cable cars and the sightseeing boats wheelchair accessible?

Q. Is there anywhere to rent bicycles?
Answer You can rent it at the Amanohasidate boat dock or the Ichinomiya boat dock. For more details, please refer to this link.

Q. The bike rental, what type of bike is it? E-bike or regular?
Answer Our rental bikes are standard bicycles, so they don’t have an electric assist feature. They’re perfect for a relaxing ride and exploring the area at your own pace.

Q. I would like to rent a child’s bicycle.
Answer We are afraid that we have adult-oriented bicycles only. Even children can ride if his/her both feet can touch the ground at the same time when he/she sits astride the saddle. Tire size is 20 inches. There are also shops handling child-oriented bicycles in Monju.

Q. I would like to rent a bicycle with a child-friendly seat.
Answer We are sorry to say that we don’t have bicycles like you say. The different shop in Monju might have them. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding.

Q. How long dose it take to get Nariaiji temple on foot?
Answer It takes 30 to 40 minutes from the Kasamatsu Park. The upward slope continues for 2km. You can also get there by “Nariai Mountain Bus” operated by us. The bus stop is in the Amanohashidate-kasamatsu Park and the ride time is about 7 minutes.

Q. How long dose it take to get the boat dock of the Ine Bay Boat Tour?
Answer If you take the bus at the Amanohashidate Sta., it takes about 55 minutes to the bus stop “Inewanmeguri Hide” in front of the boat dock. And it takes about 30 minutes by bus from the bus stop “Amanohashidate Cable-shita” near the station of the cable car.

Q. Are there anything recommended other than “Matanozoki” around Kasamatsu Park?
Answer We recommend Nariaiji temple, the 28th temple of the 33 Temples of Kansai Kannon Pilgrimage. It is famous as the temple where grant people’s wishes. You can get there by “Nariai Mountain Bus” operated by us. The view from the windows of the bus, which follows the steep mountain ridges is also fantastic! The bus stop is in the Amanohashidate-kasamatsu Park and the ride time is about 7 minutes. We hope you visit!

Q. I’d like to go to the firework festival held in Amanohashidate. Do you have any recommendations?
Answer There are three famous Fireworks Festivals in Amanohashidate. We operate the Fireworks Viewing Boat Tours that day.

Q. Is this chairlift the same as the chairlift / cable car that goes to the viewland of Amanohashidate?
Answer Please note that our chairlift and cable car are for reaching Kasamatsu Park located on the opposite bank, not Amanohashidate Viewland. The view from Amanohashidate Viewland is called “Hiryukan” (Flying Dragon View) because it resembles a dragon soaring through the sky. In contrast, the view from Kasamatsu Park is known as “Shoryukan” (Rising Dragon View), as it looks like a dragon ascending to the heavens—an auspicious sight. Kasamatsu Park is also famous as the birthplace of Matanozoki (upside-down viewing). The scenery from here is often described as “a bridge to the heavens,” and its elegant, mystical beauty has been cherished for centuries. Additionally, from Kasamatsu Park, you can take a bus further up to Nariaiji Temple, a historic site known as “the temple where wishes come true.” It continues to attract many visitors seeking spiritual fulfillment. We highly recommend visiting Kasamatsu Park to experience breathtaking perspective of Amanohashidate!
